About KSAR

Why KSAR Exists

The Thompson–Nicola Regional District is defined by rugged terrain, remote backcountry, fast-moving rivers, and year-round outdoor recreation. While these landscapes offer incredible opportunities, they also carry real risks.

KSAR exists to ensure that when someone is missing, injured, or in danger — whether hiking, hunting, driving rural roads, or affected by natural disasters — trained help is ready to respond.

In an emergency, always call 911.
